Artwork Description

Signed certificate of authenticity.

This is a painting of the Northern Red Cardinal posing perfectly front on with an angry look on its face. This playful picture also pays respect to the video game Angry Birds, in this game flocks of angry birds try to save their eggs from green-coloured pigs. Perched head on with a dark blue background that alludes to a night scene, the bird was painted quickly and expressively with acrylic paint, ink and oil pastels and using a variety of brushes. The spray-painted dots could represent stars or perhaps the bird's visualization (or thought bubble) of the eggs that must be protected. The work is sprayed regularly throughout the process with a fixative to make sure the materials used are fixed in place and there is no chance of removal, smudging or movement on the paper.
