I travelled to Temora Aviation Museum NSW and was able to see and photograph an original CAC Boomerang aeroplane that they have on display. I was quite impressed with the aeroplane and on research discovered that Boomerangs operated from PNG during 1944 supporting Australian Troops fighting the Japanese during the Second World War. I was inspired to then create a picture of two Boomerangs taking off on a mission resulting in this painting.
