Artwork Description

Colour Weave Works.
This series of “Colour Weave” works enables me to release some energy that my other works that are more contemplative do not require. Spontaneous, quick thinking and unpredictably active works, that have a rhythm, are my main focus when doing colour weaving.
Shifting focus, technique and style helps keep my work interesting and allows me to be more creative.
I hope you enjoy these works as much as I have in creating them.

RUSH HOUR
The hustle and bustle of the cities all over the world never changes. Cars, bikes, pedestrians all trying to get somewhere in a hurry. Is it trying to tell us something?

Artist Bio

My name is Julie Andrews
I have lived in Bayside all my life being born in Black Rock and I now live in Sandringham.
I have enjoyed painting in many mediums and styles since my early teens and I am truly at peace when working in my studio.
I was tutored by both Susan Nette and Kevin Taylor, and for some years I was a member of the Mordialloc Art Group, receiving acknowledgement at a number of their exhibitions.
In recent years my work has drifted from Tonal Realism, and Impressionism, to a more abstracted picture plane focussing on design and balance.
I often incorporate hand printed shapes within the composition to add to the viewers interest, and to infuse a touch of whimsy.
I like to think that my work gives sustained interest and pleasure to the viewer and allows them to escape the busy and stressful world we sometimes live in.
JKA.
