John Chadwick
I have been a practising artist for 50 years with a history of working in various creative areas including graphic design,
Illustration, theatre set design, photography and art direction.
Various influences started with my father who studied drawing and practiced signwriting in his early years.
These were fascinating times.
Starting back in the sixties there was a mixture of commercial and fine arts in the course I studied.
I found that I could encompass the texture and value of the old masters along with new
and striking creative frontiers in this progressive age. Over time, tastes and influences changed
with the acceptance of everything from Rembrandt to Andy Warhol.
My works are split into a significant range of styles. Some with a dreamlike post-modern surrealistic quality
Others in more traditional styles. Because of this, it gives me a strength and ability to give power to the image.
