Artwork Description

From an early age I have loved topographic maps so have decided to do a series using canvas and acrylic's and this is the first work of the series to be called pointillist topography .I also loved doodling with dots and circles like many of us did from an early age and incorporated this into the work. I plan to do all forms of terrain from many parts of the globe.

Artist Bio

I am a self-taught Australian artist . I have worked previously at 45 different jobs during my lifetime, however, I’ve retained a love of all things Art. I have been inspired by many artists, especially Jackson Pollock and The Aboriginal artists of Australia . I love to paint joyful works: mostly with acrylics. I enjoy experimenting, using a variety of implements and techniques. I love nature ! I see mother nature as the greatest artist of all. By mixing and weaving colours I hope I can connect people emotionally with my works.

From 2010 to 2019 I lived in Vietnam, where I exhibited in my own gallery and a gallery in the central Hanoi business district. I have had many exhibitions including the Hanoi Opera House and I have sold art works to different nationalities across the globe.

I recently moved back to Australia and am hoping to produce more works in the near future inspired by Australian scenery, flora and fauna. I have been photographing people and places in Australia so as to paint them in black and white. I entered a black and white portrait titled ‘Uncle Charlie’ in the recent Tweed Regional Gallery Border art prize.
