This painting is based on a gestural sketch from Jenolan Caves road, between the Blue Mountains and Oberon, NSW Australia.
The light out here is gorgeous. I am enlivened by the works of Lloyd Rees and Clarice Beckett, whose work captured the rich and ephemeral qualities of the Australian atmosphere.
