Artwork Description

Inspired by old stone abandoned huts often found in our national parks. Some were previously
shepherd's dwellings. Some are still utilised as hikers refuges. Usually built from local stone they are an organic fit to the surrounding bush. The cobalt sky contrasts nicely with the sienna ochre hillside.

Artist Bio

A self taught artist. I don't restrict myself in media and styles.I enjoy painting in oils, acrylics, gouache and watercolour. I have an affinity for capturing moments from places I have been lucky enough to travel to. Often developing paintings from plein air sketches I have done in the field. Whilst I enjoy contemporary realism and impressionism I will sometimes stray into the realm of pure abstraction. Convincing portrayals of light and colour are usually my main goals. Subject matter can range from the grand to the mundane and quirky.
