Can We Stop for a Milkshake?

Abstracted landscape conjured by memories of summer holidays and driving up the coast in the old family holden. After a couple of hours on the road the kids would be calling for a stop at the Oak Dairy Outlet for an ice cream or milkshake. The colours here are an Australian summer palette. A self taught artist. I don't restrict myself in media and styles.I enjoy painting in oils, acrylics, gouache and watercolour. I have an affinity for capturing moments from places I have been lucky enough to travel to. Often developing paintings from plein air sketches I have done in the field. Whilst I enjoy contemporary realism and impressionism I will sometimes stray into the realm of pure abstraction. Convincing portrayals of light and colour are usually my main goals. Subject matter can range from the grand to the mundane and quirky.
