This was inspired by a black and white public domain photo I came across of a Queensland family on a caravan holiday in 1938. The photographer is unknown but probably the father of the family. Two of the children seem to be posing but the others are caught candidly. The annex tied to the old car is a dramatic element. I chose the green colour for the van based on an old holden I used to own. That viridian tone is not around much on cars these days.

Artist Bio
A self taught artist. I don't restrict myself in media and styles.I enjoy painting in oils, acrylics, gouache and watercolour. I have an affinity for capturing moments from places I have been lucky enough to travel to. Often developing paintings from plein air sketches I have done in the field. Whilst I enjoy contemporary realism and impressionism I will sometimes stray into the realm of pure abstraction. Convincing portrayals of light and colour are usually my main goals. Subject matter can range from the grand to the mundane and quirky.
