Artwork Description

A recent visit to The Blue Mountains had me partaking of scones jam and cream at the Carrington Hotel in Katoomba. A good scone can inspire a painting. The Stained Glass Art Nouveau Facade helps a bit too! The Carrington has a mix of architectural styles dating from 1880 Victorian, Art Nouveau , Art Deco. Lots of inspiration.

Artist Bio

A self taught artist. I don't restrict myself in media and styles.I enjoy painting in oils, acrylics, gouache and watercolour. I have an affinity for capturing moments from places I have been lucky enough to travel to. Often developing paintings from plein air sketches I have done in the field. Whilst I enjoy contemporary realism and impressionism I will sometimes stray into the realm of pure abstraction. Convincing portrayals of light and colour are usually my main goals. Subject matter can range from the grand to the mundane and quirky.
