Lingering Llamas

Machu Picchu in Peru has a lot going for it. Including free range Llamas wandering around. I like the feeling of light in this one. The site is usually encased in mist at dawn and when the sun burns that off the light is sharp and clear.

A self taught artist. I don't restrict myself in media and styles.I enjoy painting in oils, acrylics, gouache and watercolour. I have an affinity for capturing moments from places I have been lucky enough to travel to. Often developing paintings from plein air sketches I have done in the field. Whilst I enjoy contemporary realism and impressionism I will sometimes stray into the realm of pure abstraction. Convincing portrayals of light and colour are usually my main goals. Subject matter can range from the grand to the mundane and quirky.
