Artwork Description

A common site in a lot of Asian countries. Monks robes drying on the verandah. The orange robes contrasted well with the blue of the building. I think this was in Luang Prabang Laos...but it could be anywhere where Buddhist monks do their washing.

Artist Bio

A self taught artist. I don't restrict myself in media and styles.I enjoy painting in oils, acrylics, gouache and watercolour. I have an affinity for capturing moments from places I have been lucky enough to travel to. Often developing paintings from plein air sketches I have done in the field. Whilst I enjoy contemporary realism and impressionism I will sometimes stray into the realm of pure abstraction. Convincing portrayals of light and colour are usually my main goals. Subject matter can range from the grand to the mundane and quirky.
