Seller in the Canyon

The Colca Canyon in Peru is the place to see Condors in flight. And wherever there are tourists there will be people to sell them what they need. I bought a beanie from this Collaqua Indian woman perched on the side of a mountain. Her colourful display of knitted goods and her distinctive traditional dress made for a good picture.

A self taught artist. I don't restrict myself in media and styles.I enjoy painting in oils, acrylics, gouache and watercolour. I have an affinity for capturing moments from places I have been lucky enough to travel to. Often developing paintings from plein air sketches I have done in the field. Whilst I enjoy contemporary realism and impressionism I will sometimes stray into the realm of pure abstraction. Convincing portrayals of light and colour are usually my main goals. Subject matter can range from the grand to the mundane and quirky.
