The Artists Studio Laundry Fridge and Dog

The back room where I paint is a combined studio with laundry with fridge with dog. It has nice light and a view to the garden. It was good to paint something as close to home as it gets. Painted in an alla prima style of broad brush work.

A self taught artist. I don't restrict myself in media and styles.I enjoy painting in oils, acrylics, gouache and watercolour. I have an affinity for capturing moments from places I have been lucky enough to travel to. Often developing paintings from plein air sketches I have done in the field. Whilst I enjoy contemporary realism and impressionism I will sometimes stray into the realm of pure abstraction. Convincing portrayals of light and colour are usually my main goals. Subject matter can range from the grand to the mundane and quirky.
