The Fig and the Fairlane

I pass these Morton Bay Figs every morning when I walk the dog. They catch the sun with interesting shadows. And it’s always good to see a sixties Ford Fairlane going past. Done in a loose style with gentle lightning featured.

A self taught artist. I don't restrict myself in media and styles.I enjoy painting in oils, acrylics, gouache and watercolour. I have an affinity for capturing moments from places I have been lucky enough to travel to. Often developing paintings from plein air sketches I have done in the field. Whilst I enjoy contemporary realism and impressionism I will sometimes stray into the realm of pure abstraction. Convincing portrayals of light and colour are usually my main goals. Subject matter can range from the grand to the mundane and quirky.
