Artwork Description

Crossing the Tibetan Plateau from the capital Lhasa going to Everest base Camp it's a stark landscape with little relief. We came upon this cafe. It was the usual non descript grey stone on the outside. But inside it was ornately decorated with carved painted wood , prayer flags...and beer as well.

Artist Bio

A self taught artist. I don't restrict myself in media and styles.I enjoy painting in oils, acrylics, gouache and watercolour. I have an affinity for capturing moments from places I have been lucky enough to travel to. Often developing paintings from plein air sketches I have done in the field. Whilst I enjoy contemporary realism and impressionism I will sometimes stray into the realm of pure abstraction. Convincing portrayals of light and colour are usually my main goals. Subject matter can range from the grand to the mundane and quirky.
