Vesteys Beach

Vesteys Beach in Darwin. The rocks here have a distinctive brown red and white caste. The curves on the shoreline adds to the composition. This beach is next to one of Australia's best galleries museum. The Darwin museum and the beach are both worth a visit.

A self taught artist. I don't restrict myself in media and styles.I enjoy painting in oils, acrylics, gouache and watercolour. I have an affinity for capturing moments from places I have been lucky enough to travel to. Often developing paintings from plein air sketches I have done in the field. Whilst I enjoy contemporary realism and impressionism I will sometimes stray into the realm of pure abstraction. Convincing portrayals of light and colour are usually my main goals. Subject matter can range from the grand to the mundane and quirky.
