New York grew out of my time spent wandering the city, where I was struck by its dual nature—fast-paced on the surface, yet filled with pockets of intimacy and reflection. On the Upper East Side, I found myself drawn to dimly lit bars where cocktail jazz lingered in the air like perfume, soft but unforgettable. The black ripple forms mirror that rhythmic pulse, steady and unhurried, while the gold inlay carries the shimmer of city lights glimpsed between high-rise silhouettes. This piece is less about the noise and movement, and more about the quiet glamour I felt in those moments—when shadow and shine seemed to meet in perfect harmony.
