Artwork Description

In this painting John has depicted a man performing a ceremonial dance at Yuwalki, south of Kintore, where his family have particular ties too.

This painting needs to be framed. It's also being sent direct from the artist at a remote art centre,Papunya Tjupi Arts , in the top end. Please note there is only one mail plane a week that takes the artwork to the Alice Springs. The tracking information is then received a week later when the mail plane returns so often the paintings are delivered before we receive the tracking information. Please expect a slightly longer wait for this very special artwork to arrive.

Artist Bio

John's dreaming is Yuwalki - his father's (Riley Rowe - passed away) country. His mother is Debra McDonald and was born in Papunya where he attended school before boarding at Yirara College in alice Springs. John joined Papunya Tjupi Arts in November 2007 after completing school. He said this is the first time he has painted. Turkey Tolson Tjupurrula was his father's brother. John learned how to paint by watching his uncle/father when he was a boy. John's brother Andrew Tolson Tjakamarra painted for papunya Tula Artists.
