Artwork Description

This striking fine art photograph captures the rustic, time-worn elegance of an authentic Italian street scene. Set in the historic walled city of Lucca, Tuscany, the image centers on an old stucco building coated in a warm, textured ochre glaze.
Mounted to the wall is a vintage glass showcase displaying local cinema posters—including vintage announcements for movies like The Avengers, To Rome with Love, and The Rum Diary alongside local schedules for the historic Lucca Cinema theater network (including the Moderno, Astra, and Centrale theaters). Resting naturally beneath the glass cases on a wet, glistening cobblestone street are classic Italian commuter bicycles, leaning softly against the weathered wall.

Artist Bio

I’m a self-taught photographer based in the scenic coastal town of Torquay, Victoria. My relationship with the camera spans decades, beginning with film in my early twenties and evolving into a deep passion during the digital era. I treat photography as a therapeutic, intuitive practice—relying on the philosophy that the best images come from simply reacting to the world around you.

I’m an opportunistic shooter, not liking to be boxed into a single style. I am equally at home capturing the expansive coastlines of his local area, old architectural structures, or candid moments on the street here and abroad. Today, I balance my time between a lightweight, modern Olympus system and classic film photography, finding unique joy in the deliberate pace of the analogue process. For me the ultimate reward of a photograph is the personal memory attached to it, and I love to print my own work to appreciate the tactile beauty of the final image.

I have been published twice in the Olympus Passion Magazine and various photos have been published in Australia Architect Magazines
