Artwork Description

This image I took on travelling through Italy it transports the viewer directly into the heart of Italy’s timeless street culture. Featuring a tight, beautifully cropped perspective on a classic emerald-green Gran Turismo scooter, the image celebrates the rich textures of a bygone era. The weathered 'Roma' license plate tells a story of decades spent navigating historic cobblestones, while the play of soft sunlight brings out the glossy curves of the metalwork against a rustic stone wall. Perfectly balancing industrial nostalgia with organic texture, this piece brings a sophisticated, sun-drenched slice of Italian romance into any contemporary space.

Artist Bio

I’m a self-taught photographer based in the scenic coastal town of Torquay, Victoria. My relationship with the camera spans decades, beginning with film in my early twenties and evolving into a deep passion during the digital era. I treat photography as a therapeutic, intuitive practice—relying on the philosophy that the best images come from simply reacting to the world around you.

I’m an opportunistic shooter, not liking to be boxed into a single style. I am equally at home capturing the expansive coastlines of his local area, old architectural structures, or candid moments on the street here and abroad. Today, I balance my time between a lightweight, modern Olympus system and classic film photography, finding unique joy in the deliberate pace of the analogue process. For me the ultimate reward of a photograph is the personal memory attached to it, and I love to print my own work to appreciate the tactile beauty of the final image.

I have been published twice in the Olympus Passion Magazine and various photos have been published in Australia Architect Magazines
