Triangles Plus

The inspiration was to see that even though there is chaos and randomness around the surface of the workings, the thought process to produce it was a calculated one. And around the chaos of swirls and lines there are dissecting lines that form the triangles of different shapes

Hi I am John Waltrich and my painting journey started when I was early 20's and living in St Kilda Melbourne. My night classes were at Prahran Tafe on a Tuesday night with my teacher being Howard Arkley . It wasn't long before we became good friends .A wife and 3 children put a hold on my painting up till about 2 years ago when a bedroom became free and the urge to paint again took over. Based in Cheltenham I have taken to Acrylics as my choice of paints and my inspirations come to me in many forms. Some ideas come at unusual times and in different forms. You will see a variety of styles coming out of my small studio with an emphases on contrasting colors and techniques. The idea of exploring and pushing boundaries are what is driving me at the moment and I hope that I can produce works that convey and conjure up emotions, thoughts and conversations.
