Original Artwork's Description

Rainbow Bark : This work of art depicts the bark of a spectacularly coloured tree known as Eucalyptus Deglupta, or the Mindanao Gum or the Rainbow Gum tree. When viewing said trees they look like they’ve been painted on, but these colours are all natural. Multi-coloured streaks on the trunk are caused by the outer bark shedding to reveal a bright-green inner bark. Same then darkens and matures to provide quite an array of bright colourful tones. These so-called rainbow trees are found in Hawaii, the Philippines, Papua New Guinea, and Indonesia. These rainbow eucalyptus trees can grow up to 250 feet tall. They are a major plantation tree used for manufacturing pulp production, and they are also widely planted for use as an ornamental tree because of their unusual and attractive bark The Rainbow Gum tree is a very large, fast-growing, broadleaved evergreen tree that is native to moist humid tropical forested areas with high rainfall in the afore mentioned countries, it is the only eucalyptus tree that is indigenous to the northern hemisphere.

Artist Bio

I was born in Preston, Lancashire in 1949 and currently live in Carramar, Western Australia………. where I have resided for the past 30 years.
I was the owner of a successful family-run Real Estate Agency for 12 years prior to retirement in late 2017.
Before relocating to Perth in 1990 I lived on the troubled war-torn Bougainville Island in Papua New Guinea for 10 years, followed by 3 years in the Solomon Islands.

As an artist, by using my vivid imagination……… I am able to create and communicate my ideas into visual form on a blank canvas.
My artwork has certainly enriched my life and here’s to hoping that same can enrich someone else’s life, as my creations hang prominently displayed on your walls.
When you engage with my artwork, I sincerely hope that you too will be overcome by feelings of joy, loads of feel-good energy, and relief from stress, as you form a good harmonious relationship with the contrasting colours and vitality that rises up from my canvases.

All of my paintings are acrylic on stretched canvas; ready to hang. In my studio I ask Alexa to play music very loud by my favourite artists, as same gives me inspiration.
Painting is therapeutic to me and I get a great feeling of pleasure as I disappear into my creativeness whereby I apply rich and vibrant acrylic colours to my canvas.
Through my artwork; it is my desire to put a smile on your face ………. and bring some joy to your heart.
