Inspired by nature and universal themes and concepts‚ John Louis Lloyd’s abstract paintings sneak up on you and appeal to the curiosity within the viewer. At first sight, they seem totally abstract until a feature, then appears to the viewer‚ irreversibly leading one into a mysterious world that indeed can have some essence of the familiar but overall seems to have an other-worldly feel about it. Rich textures‚ layers of marks‚sprays, collaged skins, stains‚ glazes and flows make for enticing‚ visually engaging organic surfaces.
