I am Jolan Reggel (b.1946 in Pereg, Hungary) This village no longer exists, as it has become integrated into Kiskunlachaza, around 35 km south of Budapest. I fled from Hungary in 1986 from the communist Russian occupation to Austria from there to Australia, landing in Brisbane 1987. I was a primary school teacher in Hungary, teaching art among many other subjects to grade one to four. On arriving in Brisbane I was employed by the Education Department until my retirement in 2010. Painting has became an retirement pursuit to keep me occupied.
My work is eclectic and abstract using various media and methods.
