Artwork Description

Acrylic on linen

Signed on the front.

Here is another one from a series of famous Parisian cafes.
Les Deux Magots - a cafe located on the Paris Saint-Germain boulevard, in the Saint-Germain-des-Prés district, in the 6th arrondissement, famous for its popularity among the literary and intellectual elite of Paris. The cafe hosted intellectuals and artists, incl. Jean-Paul Sartre, Simone de Beauvoir, Ernest Hemingway, Albert Camus, Pablo Picasso and Bob Welch.
Les Deux Magots awards the Prix des Deux Magots literary award, which dates back to 1933.
The name of the cafe comes from two wooden statuettes representing Chinese salesmen (Fr. Magots), which are located on one of the pillars of the cafe.
Since the painting shows cafes at night, I decided to add some Vincent Van Gogh accents to it.
