It's no surprise that aerial photography has become incredibly popular in recent years. One of the key ingredients of a compelling image is point of view - anything seen from a different perspective to what we see every day (eg our own head height) is interesting to us.
In this case, it's given us a pretty stunning view of an alpine lake and the surrounding forest. I'm fascinated by the reflections of the clouds in the water... it feels like the water is actually a window, providing a view through to the clouds beneath.
I love creating this depth in my images - when hung on the wall, I want the artwork to be a viewport through to another place, not just a flat image on the wall.
