Artwork Description

Travel for me is the ultimate freedom. And even though I feel like I've taken more 'beautiful' photos while travelling, this particular image comes close to perfectly summing up why I love to travel.

I've lost count of the amount of balmy summer evenings I've spent wandering the old towns of European cities. An amazing meal and a few drinks settling in my belly, and probably with a gelato in hand. The sky cooling to post-sunset tones, contrasting with the warm glow of street lamps and light spilling from windows. The uneven cobbles underfoot, worn smooth over hundreds of years from feet and wheels. The happy sounds of the laneways bustling with locals and tourists alike.

These are some of my happiest memories while travelling, and I hope this little laneway, bathed in the soft glow of street lamps in the Croatian city of Rovinj while inspire you to make your own amazing travel memories.

Artist Bio

You could say that my photographic journey started deeply rooted within the art world. My inspiration came from nature – light, shadow, geometry, and patterns. I started to study the work of other talented photographers, so that my interest in photography – always hovering in the background – sparked into flame as I started to experiment with my first ‘grown up’ camera. My exploration has taken me across a range of photographic genres – weddings, architecture, travel, landscapes, commercial, portraits and more. I feel I’ve come full circle now, and my passion for sharing the world as I see it has been strengthened by my exposure to a variety of subjects and the shooting styles and technical skills they require.I’m happiest when I see the reactions and intrigue of people viewing my work. So all I ask is that you give yourself permission to explore whatever inspiration you feel when you look at my photos… and think about how you can put that inspiration into action.
