Seed pods, negative space and inner workings. The work is about the negative space created around the pods. In the act of observation of the pods it becomes evident that the negative area around them is a much a subject as the pods. Negative space or poche' space in my architectural training being about illuminating the space around the subject. The Stuff in between
My artistic journey is one that aims to place the artist as co-creator. The artist being one of the ingredients of the work rather than simply the maker or doer of art. The practice of art becomes then a form of meditation, present to the act or moment. Meditating on the mystery of life and consciousness. A fond amateur of quantum physics, my explorations into this science are a constant source of amazement, joy, awe and humility. In becoming aware, a type of artistic liberation or co-creation is realisable.
