The Artist Space Gallery Abstract Art Exhibition Finalist 2022

I'm still unsure if I was painting eyes or lips with this one. I had one friend say it looks like a bending arm which also makes sense. I had a new lemon yellow and burgundy which became the start of this one and then captured these with crimson, yellow ochre and raw umber with a drop of lime to finish.

Jordan Lambi is an emerging artist based in Meanjin/Brisbane. Raised by an established visual artist, art was a large part of his childhood; however, it was largely forgotten about due to other passions being focused on until 2020. Since then, there has been a deep dive into artistic expression and 2022 marked the year of dedicating meaningful time to painting, a first sale and the first time being a finalist in three art prizes at Petrie Terrace Gallery. Working with oils, varying forms of abstract art have been explored so far. Jordan’s work is defined by the use of bold colours and liquid forms and shapes in an expressionist form. Always striving to create an emotion in the work, the specifics of this is typically found as the painting emerges.
