Artwork Description

Aspect Art Show Finalist 2023

This painting is a first for for me in a couple of ways. It is my first collaboration and it was an absolute pleasure to work with Lamia Bravaragazza who provided amazing feedback and encouragement along the way as well as the beautiful pose. It's also the first time I've used a photo as a basis for a figurative work rather than just going from the top of my head and I think that shows. Overall this was the most challenging and enjoyable project to date and I think this is my newest favourite.

Artist Bio

Jordan Lambi is an emerging artist based in Meanjin/Brisbane. Raised by an established visual artist, art was a large part of his childhood; however, it was largely forgotten about due to other passions being focused on until 2020. Since then, there has been a deep dive into artistic expression and 2022 marked the year of dedicating meaningful time to painting, a first sale and the first time being a finalist in three art prizes at Petrie Terrace Gallery. Working with oils, varying forms of abstract art have been explored so far. Jordan’s work is defined by the use of bold colours and liquid forms and shapes in an expressionist form. Always striving to create an emotion in the work, the specifics of this is typically found as the painting emerges.
