Forest Creek 6

"Forest Creek 6" is my interpretation of a vibrant, living forest—full of energy, colour, and movement. I wanted to capture the beauty of a peaceful creek winding its way through the trees, with wildflowers blooming freely along the banks. Using large brushes and bold, loose brush strokes, I let the colours lead the way—layering rich, vibrant tones to give the scene life and spontaneity. It's not about perfect detail, but about the feeling of standing in that moment: the light filtering through the trees, the shimmer of water, the wildness of nature doing its own thing. The painting is meant to feel alive—joyful, untamed, and bursting with colour.

Originally from Wollongong, Australia, Jos’s artistic journey has taken him from the Netherlands, where he lived as a teenager, to New Zealand, where he spent 26 years with his wife and four children. Now based south of Perth, Western Australia, Jos continues to explore and push the boundaries of his art, constantly inspired by his global experiences.
