I love the winter-scenes with ice-skaters and all sorts of activity you would have seen in those days. Long time ago, when I was in first grade, the first drawing we had to create was an ice skating scene. That is 65 years ago. So, this memory goes back to my youth. Please note; this is not a copy of an existing old painting! You might think this, but it is an original, which I painted not long after I was recovering from a mild stroke. It has not been on exhibition ever, so this is its premiere. A great talking piece and deserves a very important place in your house.

Note: If you who would like to view my paintings in person, you are welcome to a live viewing at the seriously chique " Hampton Estate Wines " on Mount Tamborine (Gold Coast hinterland) where there are always around 20-30 paintings on show. Worth coming up the mountain for a day trip if you are visiting the Gold Coast , Queensland 4272, Australia.

Just a few objects found in the house of a deceased uncle who was reading the paper while having his last smoke from the Ming tobacco pot (which lid is invisible behind the box. The box with some small personal trinkets, a small checkered pill box, and an empty red glass flower vase, as he was a widower and did not like to see dying flowers in his house anymore. The feeling of holding something in your hands that is hundred of years old, like the pewter and the ceramic Japanese vase, gives me a feeling of agelessness. It vibrates through my entire body and to spend weeks painting something like this climaxes to an explosion in my imagination. A painting of this calibre is and always will be an eye catcher when people realise it has not been created with shortcuts and tricks, but genuinely by discipline and artistry without smoke and mirrors.
