Abstract Expressionist series of 3, each canvas measures 76 x 108 cm. You can hang this however you want, it was painted as one long piece but functions just as well when negative space is punctuated between each panel. There is an example of this in the photos I included from when it was on display in a café in the city I live in.
I was trying to work with the idea of using more rigid lines to create a sense of attempting to contain or control the colourful chaos that ensues when I work in abstract expressionism. Generally I feel like I am trying to in a sense control the uncontrollable when I work in this style, so this is perhaps just a more direct representation of that. I think the line work complemented the length of the combined paintings as well. The final product has become a more obvious reflection on the emotional state experienced throughout the production phase.
