My name is Joseph Parejado, residing in Perth, Western Australia since 2013. I take pride in showcasing my latest works in acrylics. My works are inspired by nature that ranges from wildlife, waterfalls, lakes, rivers, seascapes, coastal landscapes and built environment such as landmarks and streetscapes around Australia and beyond.
I have a background in architecture and interior design, worked overseas between 1997 – 2013 in the Philippines, Brunei and in the Middle East as a Production Architect and 3D Visualizer. Well versed in using “conventional” (gouache, pen & ink and mixed media) and “digital” (Autodesk 3ds Max with V-Ray plugin) renderings for building exteriors & interiors.
Through the years I have developed a technique on how to combine realism and impressionism styles to create unique compositions where the central elements on the canvas are painted in realistic representation but the portion of foreground towards the edges are painted spontaneously through the use of palette knife or impressionistic brush strokes. My workflow runs from thin line works, then roughing-in color of every element and finally, detailing.
Currently doing the Rottnest Island series and some naturescapes showcasing my hyperrealistic and impressionistic interpretations.
