Remi d'Argent LAPS, is a multiple award winning artist/photographer. For many years he has extensively travelled the world seeking the unique and unusual in both contemporary and historic cityscapes. He is intrigued by the ceaseless daily routine movements of populations within their urban environment and their inherent interaction between iconic structures, space and the resultant flow of human activity.
Remi creates individual series of works, both in colour and black and white photography using a technique of digital layering and textures to create unique stylised images. His current focus is on presenting a series of iconic structures and images that although familiar to the eye are layered and altered to create a sense of distortion and viewed within a dreamlike state. Remi is drawn to objects that are old, rusted and decaying, beyond their 'use by date' thus illustrating the impermanence of man-made objects and indeed life itself. His images present their soul for viewing and project an exuberant feeling for life.
