An impressionistic painting of an Australian Icon - Uluru or Ayers Rock, a massive sandstone monolith in the heart of the Northern Territory’s arid "Red Centre". I have used a drawing method of scratching back to reveal complementary blue and green undertones in the background paint layers. Brushwork became rapid and broken into separate dabs in order to render the fleeting quality of light.
