An abstract painting created using thick and lustrous layers of acrylic paint, on stretched canvas. This harmonious painting brings a sense of peace and warmth to any room of your house. Inspiration for creating this seascape painting, comes from living on the South Coast of Australia.
Josephine Dash is a passionate Wollongong based Visual Artist who enjoys working with various mediums and media arts to explore universal themes such as hope, healing and spirituality. She has a Bachelor of Creative Arts - Major in Visual Arts, from the University of Wollongong and enjoys painting in a semi-abstract style, using a combination of palette knife and traditional brush strokes to achieve the desirable effects. She implements a slow painting process using multiple paint layering techniques to express the meditative and dreamlike state of consciousness she experiences when making art. This process is grounded in the practice based research of how memory and aesthetics relate to time and place through the medicinal qualities of art therapy. Through these connections and by living on the South Coast of Australia, Dash finds endless subject matter and inspiration to create these artworks.
