Artwork is sealed for life long protection.
This small, vividly painted bird perches within a confined world—its presence both delicate and defiant. The bird’s bright greens and blues reflect life and freedom, yet it is partially restrained by the bars of the cage but freedom within reach of an open door. The cage itself, mounted within a dark frame - remain in the dark or escape to the light.
The contrast between the organic, expressive brushwork of the bird and the rigid, constructed cage evokes tension between spirit and restraint. This piece invites reflection on themes of limitation, resilience, and the quiet, uncertain space between confinement and release.
