LARGE ABSTRACT FLUID PAINTING. Acrylic on canvas. 122cm x 61 cm x 4cm (48" x 24" x 1 1/2") Ready to hang. Expressive style. Influenced by my love of sky, sun and sea colours and movement.

I was so inspired to paint this piece when I saw the brightness of the day! The warm colours of the sun and clear, deep blue sky always give me an emotional lift. I used an experimental approach to develop the composition and three layers of paint to ensure rich depth of colours and a high quality finish.

DESCRIPTION: A lively interaction of beautiful colours evoking happy emotions, Vibrancy 2 is worked in layers from sombre tones to dynamic contrasts across the colour spectrum. I like to hand mix and match all the tints and tones from the original pure colours from the tube. This allows me to achieve the variety and harmony I desire to make a large statement piece.

SHIPPING: Economic, low carbon shipping in a heavy duty plastic tube. Packed well to prevent damage in transit. The packaging materials can be recycled. My next step is to source heavy duty bio-degradable cardboard tubes.

OVERSIZED PACKAGE: Larger than 120cm (48 inches) on the longest side, when packed. This is when the canvas artwork is on a timber frame, ready to hang and packed in a plywood box. Because it’s a big, heavy package, shipping charges are high, also carbon emissions are high.

INTERNATIONAL EXPRESS SHIPPING FROM AUSTRALIA: Because this artwork is oversized, I take it off the stretcher frame and ship rolled in a tube.You then have a small package with a low shipping charge and low carbon emissions. The painting will need a re-mount by your local picture framer.

Sudden Flower Dance was inspired by the dynamism, vitality and grace of the Chilean traveller Catalina, who was our model at a Friday morning Dynamic Drawing session. Painted directly onto a sheet of canvas, in the moment, at Byron Bay, Australia.

This is the essence of Shanene - expressive, sensitive, sensuous, suggestive, self contained, graceful, revealing personality and character, telling a story through movement of the body.
