This painting began with a black base and dark cool colours that represented the rainy and cold winter morning I saw through my windows as I painted. As I developed the composition with layers of brushstrokes, the colours warmed as the rain slowed and the sunlight began to bring out some welcoming shades in the garden. The final layers of off white hide some of the chaos of an average day and reveal portions of the composition, or โwindowsโ into individual thoughts and interpretations. This painting gives the viewer opportunities to circle through different ideas and journeys that they might see through each window.
This painting is stretched and framed with Tasmanian Oak which is varnished with a clear matte varnish. This will be ready to hang out of the box!
