Homecoming
Old country
Nature heaven
Bush plaything
Origins of my story
Revisited
Listen, dreamlike songs
Still lingering
From gnarled eucalyptus
Whispering grass trees
And shaken-bloomed wattles
From home-house
To treehouse
The enchanted jungle
Shares many treasures
Revisited
My homeland
Now cuddled close
By Natureโs hug
Mixes mystery and nostalgia
Where I step out of my
Adult-conditioned skin
And frolic free as
A child once more free
So much
In this distant memory
Still shines true
From the rocks
That transformed into
Vessels of conquest
On raging seas
To limestone sheiks
That hid gunslingers and bushrangers
To the stone memorials
Built higher and higher
Up the mountains
As we explored, discovered
The myriads of worlds
Possessed in this coyish unknown
I linger
I love
I belong
I remember
I return
To my home
