Enjoying Spring

Inspired by Pierre Bonnard's landscapes and Giorgio Morandi's still lifes, I created this still life arrangement on a picnic table in my local park. I wished to depict the beauty of a bright spring day, adding seasonal fruits and a feather and bark that I found in the park. Adding naive elements to a more traditionally executed painting makes for a dynamic composition.

Josseline Jeria is a Contemporary Australian born painter, currently based in Sydney.
Focusing on the Fine arts, I work predominately in realist traditions based in impressionistic and expressionistic styles. I explore incorporating abstract qualities in my work, to create different pictorial spaces and to emphasize focal points. My choice of style for a given painting is made based on the composition and the mood I wish for the audience to experience when viewing my work.
I enjoy exploring the full spectrum of colour palettes, from monochromatic to highly saturated, and from minimal to complex interpretations of objects, landscapes and people.
The majority of my paintings are painted from life.
