Artwork Description

Vaycay is the next release in my Summer House series, inspired by a holiday house we used to visit on the on the south coast of NSW. Full of mismatched furniture, handmade family treasures, worn vintage fabrics, faded and chipping paint, and lots of laughter.
This extra large diptych is painted on all sides, so framing is optional. This also means that the individual paintings can be hung in a variety of compositions to suit your space. All archival quality materials. Each painting is signed on the back, and a certificate of authenticity is also included. Than you for your interest.

Artist Bio

Ann Needham’s distinctive style could best be described as an abstract representation of an internal state, of feelings or emotions, made visible through her exploration of color, line, texture and the human form.
Needham has a background in fashion, textile design and psychology, with a Master Degree in Art Therapy MArtTher. Over the years each of these areas have merged to shape and inform her unique style and process.

Needham’s works range from large scale statement pieces to smaller, more intimate works. Needham works predominately in acrylics, because they suit her tendency for spontaneity. They have a tactile aesthetic because she values the look of the human touch, which she believes helps forge a deeper connection and understanding with the viewer.

Ann Needham grew up on the New South Wales South Coast and is now based in Brisbane. She has previously been represented by Gannon House Gallery in The Rocks in Sydney. Needham’s paintings are held in collections across Australia, England, Singapore and the USA including works held by the City of Hope Treatment and Research Hospital, Orange County California, and have been featured in Home Design Magazine publication 2025.
