A Yorkshire lass turned Aussie citizen has found her home in Brisbane and embraces her passion for painting as well as part time nursing. Surviving the years of motherhood and a nursing career Joy has welcomed the opportunity to explore and develop her artistic flair.
Nature, realism and emotion are 3 words to describe Joy's art. She delights in the attitude or aura of an animal, or the vibrancy or delicacy of a flower. Using acrylic and oils as her mediums Joy creates artworks of impact. In her own words she says wryly " "I don't do wishy washy very well!"
Joy is regularly commissioned for her animal and floral artworks. She has exhibited a number of times in 2016/17 around Brisbane and her work has also raised money for charities such as the Cancer Council and 13CHILD. Her goal for 2018 is to raise money via her artwork for animal charities. " My deep love of animals and the desire to help ease their plight in todays environmental hell is my motivation to paint and sell my art".
