Joyce Yeap is a Sydney based artist specialising in oil and pastel painting. While she has been making art most of her life, it was only since her retirement in 2023 that she started practising as a full time artist. Born in Malaysia, Joyce's educational background is in Art History and Museum Studies. On emigrating to Australia in 1998, she worked as a postal worker in country Australia while bringing up children. In 2010, she undertook further training as an international aid worker and worked abroad until her recent retirement. She has kept up her interest in art and when opportunity allowed, had attended short courses and masterclasses including figure painting at the London Atelier of Representational Art (LARA), portraiture at Heatherley's School of Fine Art, London, and figure sculpture at Manly Sculpture School.
