Recently a close family member has been diagnosed with cancer, and maybe I had a sixth sense but I had started painting these jonquils beforehand, but once I found out, I knew I had to finish it. Yellow daffodils are part of the jonquil family of flowers and even though there is daffodil day for cancer, to me everyday is daffodil day. Jonquils especially the yellow ones represent the symbol of hope and brighter days ahead

Artwork Description
Artist Bio
Welcome - and thank you for visiting my page. I grew up on the Sunshine Coast where my family had horses, so if I wasn't riding and competing, I was drawing them from an early age sometimes in pencil but mostly in charcoal. I studied art in my final school years, and from then on, I lived in various remote areas of Queensland, so my main inspiration was drawn from this.
A bit of trivia about me:
I sold my first painting - an oil painting when I was about 14/15 years old. I was asked by a lady to paint something in remembrance of her husband to donate to the Caboolture RSL.
I nearly became an art teacher. I had applied and got accepted to go to art college, but in the interim I accepted an office position, so I kept that.
In my early twenties, I had painted in oil, a little bull rider with his rope dragging, and someone stole it from the person I gave it to.
From then:
In 2016, I was honoured to be asked to illustrate for a special project on the plight of families going through IVF. The book published in the same year being "Special Me - for IVF Families".
Currently living in Toowoomba, I have held a number of solo and joint exhibitions around the region.
I would appreciate it if you would follow me, and be the first to view my newly uploaded art......thanks
