Burning Tide

The scene in this painting depicts a stormy ocean scene at sunset. I used a palette knife to paint it almost entirely. I love impasto style, textures on a painting create a sense of movement throughout the piece.

In the upper half, the sky is dramatic dominated by deep, stormy clouds in shades of navy, slate gray, and violet.

The waves are the focal point, rendered in a striking array of colors. The water itself is a mosaic of blues, teals, and hints of purple.

The foreground shows the sandy beach, which include gold, orange, red, and hints of blue and purple. The overall impression is one of powerful natural forces, a dramatic sky and a churning sea—captured in a bold and expressive style.

His technique, which he terms "Broken Strokes," infuses his paintings with vibrant energy, movement, and tactile depth.
