Known for the variety of subject & genres. Her work is mainly in oils & acrylics with color featuring prominently in her work.
Painting is a most important part of her life. It has always been there. To be involved in art in some way was the only thing she has ever wanted to do - it is a passion.
She was lucky for art to be part of her working life.
In her early years, she worked in visual merchandising in a Brisbane department store. As display manager, she and the team designed & constructed all the props used throughout the store & later ran her own display business, including painting backdrops for theatre restaurants & various businesses, designing and making both props & costumes for locally run Arts Council productions. This experience has a profound effect on her later work.
Her art education has been spasmodic through the years. She studied free-hand drawing at the Brisbane Technical College at night and also took classes in oils with quality artists in her early years. Later she attended the Brisbane Institute of Art for a time with ceramics & sculpture being her area of interest. She has completed courses in interior design, silk screen, painted finishes & attended workshops with accomplished artists in various mediums over this time.
She had a joint exhibition at the Warwick Regional Art Gallery in the early 2000's and does exhibit within her local area. She is involved in her local arts community in various ways, regularly teaching and voluntarily giving her time to aspiring artists.
Her work can be seen in private collections in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
