Juanita Rudman is a Sydney-based artist celebrated for her vibrant, bold semi-abstract paintings that radiate joy and positivity. Returning to painting during a deeply personal time, she found inspiration in her father’s incredible garden, a sanctuary during his chemo treatments and a powerful source of creative energy.
Juanita’s work explores the beauty of nature, with recurring themes of rainbows and flowers bursting with colour and life. She views rainbows as symbols of hope, happiness, and the balance between life’s storms and sunshine, inspiring her to use every colour on the palette. Her layered and intuitive process combines professional grade acrylic paint, ink, oil sticks, pastels, and Posca pens to create dynamic, textured works filled with movement and energy.
With a background spanning multiple creative pursuits, including photography, dance, and broadcast journalism, Juanita brings a playful, experimental spirit to her paintings. Her ultimate goal is to bring joy, brightness, and positivity to viewers, leaving them with a smile.
Juanita has exhibited her work at various Sydney shows, including the Drummoyne Art Society Awards and the Incognito Art Show, and has been active in local art markets such as Drummoyne Makers Markets and Ferragosto. She also contributes to the art community as a Committee Member and Social Media Co-Manager for the Drummoyne Art Society.
